Welcome to our publicly available list of all known Contessa 26s.
There are various lists in existence and we would like to get somewhere closer to a definitive offering. To this end we would be very grateful if all Contessa 26 owners would send current information to enable us to update the record by filling in this form with as much information as you have. In addition, even if you are not an owner but see a Contessa 26 that is not in the list below then we would be pleased if you could send us any information such as name, location, etc. you know. Thank you.
NOTES
- Contessa hull numbers started at 1 and sail numbers started at 100.
- When sail number 299 was reached the next sail number was 1201.
- Sail and hull numbers did not always progress in step due to some boats being bought as kits and finished later.
- Hull numbers may no longer be present but should be found stamped on a small piece of plywood on the sternpost accessed from the aft deck hatch.
- A few boats were built by Maclan Marine from 1977
- A large number of boats with modified upper decks were built by JJ Taylor in Canada under licence. The Canadian boats had a taller rig and a longer cockpit than the U.K. boats, and they also had a minimal aft deck due to additional cockpit length.
